Our most popular UK Long Weekend & now in its 10th glorious year.

Covering just over 100 miles from Winchester to Eastbourne during three days of riding the South Downs Way is one of the UK's must do long distance trails. It's a route with limited tricky sections and one which requires a good level of bike fitness rather than superb technical riding now-how. Based mostly around Bank Holidays this means less days off work, but also means they do tend to sell-out - you've been warned!

Skedaddle UK Self Guided & Guided Cycling Options 2010
We’re enjoying a bumper start to the year, with our UK holidays and short breaks proving more popular than ever. Many of these utilize the Sustrans routes and here’s a selection of both our self guided and supported trips that we run. Let us have your cycling dates and once we’ve check that our preferred accommodation and transfer services are available, we’ll soon have you Skedaddlin’!

Whilst the trips you’ll find in our brochure and website are a specified number of days,  we can be as flexible as you want us to be - just let us have your requirements. We also cater for bespoke groups and families and if you prefer to have a guide close to hand then we also have some supported trips too in cluding the classic UK ride from Lands End to John O'Groats.

C2C - Coast to Coast

c2c   Our most popular UK Cycling break, the C2C sees you travelling coast to coast from Whitehaven to Tynemouth over 140 miles through some of the most stunning scenery in the Lake District / Cumbria and Northumberland.

Accommodation throughout is of a great standard and starts with a night at the Hilton Newcastle/Gateshead, where you can return at the end of the trip for a shower before heading home. For the C2C you can opt for 2, 3 or 4 days of cycling, choose our scheduled dates (most cost effective), non-scheduled dates (choose whenever you like) or our supported trip (guide support).

Hadrian's Cycleway

hadrian cycleway   Fancy a coast to coast trip, with a slice of Roman history along the way? Then plump for our Hadrian’s Cycleway. This is a trip that really suits families and those after a few less hills along the way and a more leisurely pace. As with the C2C your trip starts at the coast  this time at Bowness on Solway and finishes in Tynemouth and may be done in 2, 3 or 4 days. Initial accommodation as with the C2C is at the Hilton, but with accommodation a little scarcer along this route we suggest you plan well ahead for this coast to coast option.

                    Self guided options               Supported Options

Skedaddle Early Season and Easter Availability

With the sun finally arriving and not just for a few hours, we've been busy at the Skedaddle office as lots of you re-aquaint yourselves with the neglected item that you lovingly know as your bike.

With many of out UK and European trips now confirmed in April and May, below is a snap-shot of some of the confirmed departure plus those which still have availability for our guided MTB trips.

For those of you who prefer to go it alone, or if our scheduled dates just don’t fit, then we’ve also a huge range of self guided mountain bike holidays throughout Europe to choose from.

Sardinia

Naomi, Renato and Massimo are already telling us about just how warm and sunny it is in Sardinia and with lots of you booking your early season holidays to the island, spaces are getting scarce.

Costa Verde
04 to 10 April - limited space
25 April to 01 May - limited space -
ADDITIONAL DATE!!

Explore the fun trails in the south of the island on a holiday that spends its time between accommodation in the hills and on the coast.

Coast to Coast
21 to 29 May - limited space
Ever popular this holiday, which splits it's time between off road trails and connecting road sections (80/20) is a superb place to place journey through Sardinia's most dramatic regions.

Transardata
30 April to 09 May - Good availability
Fancy tweaking up the energy levels and technical sections then plump for the north to south traverse and tick it off your wish list of classic mountain bike journeys.

Portugal

               Roman Trails
15 to 22 May - Last three places
Once again Antonio and Jose Carlos have tweaked our Roman Trails trip and made it even better than before. Be prepared for fairly long days riding, plush accommodation with tasty meals and Berta's legendary snack bars fueling your days in the saddle. Cheap fights with easyJet into Lisbon from Gatwick are currently availablle too.

Mountains of Malcata
10 to 17 July - Good availability
A tad later in the year our Malcata trip takes us through some of the most scenic countryside and least visited areas of Portugal. This is a region that boast a strong cultural identity and miles upon miles of pristine cross country trails...you'll not be disappointed!!

Spain

     Lake District

Dan and Philip have awaken from their winter hibernation and are busy preparing for the season ahead. Before they head north to run our Picos de Europa and Camino trips, they'll be down South guiding you around some of the best trails on offer - here's the run-down.

Coast of Light
04 to 10 April - Good availability
23 to 29 May - Good availability

Skedaddle Spain's new kid on the block that explore's the cork forest of the Alcornacales and ends the vibrant coastal town of Tarifa. Graded at 2-3 it's suitabe for those fairly new to mountain biking or if you've not quite 'got going' this year.

Trans Andaluz
09 to 16 May - Limited availability
With one trip already under our belts (actually happening right now) we'll be back in May for another foray to Andalucia. This place to place journey whilst not overly technical links fast trails and ancient roads with lashings of fresh air and singletrack routes.

Sierras Singletrack
30 May to 05 June - Good availability
Looking to up the anty a little then plump for Sierras Singletrack and blast the trails of the Serrania de Ronda. Without doubt a fun packed week of top class riding, spectacular scenery and gorgeous food for the rider who enjoys a technical test.

We've self guided mountain biking options too - just let us have your preferred dates and you'll soon be Skedaddlin' in Croatia.

South Downs Way

Our most popular UK Long Weekend & now in its 10th glorious year.

Covering just over 100 miles from Winchester to Eastbourne during three days of riding the South Downs Way is one of the UK's must do long distance trails. It's a route with limited tricky sections and one which requires a good level of bike fitness rather than superb technical riding now-how. Based mostly around Bank Holidays this means less days off work, but also means they do tend to sell-out - you've been warned!

30 Apr. to 03 May  and  28 May to 31 May
27 Aug. to 30 Aug  and  24 Sep. to 27 Sep.
