Exceeded my expectations over and over again!
Best holiday I have ever had – it exceeded my expectations over and over again. An amazing experience! Not cheap, but worth it for the quality provided. Phu was a brilliant coach driver – unflappable, steady as a rock – we all felt completely safe at all times, despite some difficult conditions at times. Tai the mechanic was always on hand for minor problems – of which there were very few, most of us had none at all. He and Tai the truck driver cleaned the bikes every day, filled our water bottles, etc. We were very well looked after. Tai the mechanic was an excellent backstop, no-one got left behind. He also went ahead at busy junctions and held the traffic up for us. All three of them helped ensure we did not miss any turnings. An excellent team!
I would not hesitate to recommend Skedaddle!
I was recommended Skedaddle by my cousins who had travelled with you in Peru. I am so glad they did and I would not hesitate to recommend you again.
It was an incredible experience. I loved the rides in the hills and countryside. Together with the long descents. Magical. The routes were well planned and Young worked well to understand the group and our aims. Having Thai the mechanic at the back really helped my morale. And also knowing the support trucks were so efficient to top up water, give lots of smiles and offer support when I was poorly was so fantastic.
The best tour leader we have ever had!
Our guide Duong …I think he was probably the best guide/tour leader we have ever had, and we have had some good ones! He was gentle, courteous and such fun to be with. He looked after us so well. We felt confident and safe with him, as well as liking him enormously on a personal level. Would definitely do another Skedaddle trip – already browsing looking for the next holiday!

Lived up to all my expectations!
The trip lived up to all my expectations, which were pretty high due to a number of people telling me what a great country Vietnam was to visit! Well organised, packed with great experiences, great guides, and a great group of travelling companions.
I loved the big 30 km descent from Da Lat to Nha Trang, which had some of the most spectacular scenery on the trip, as well as being an exhilarating descent. Also Da Nang to Hue via Hai Van Pass was a spectacular and extremely varied day of riding.
Anh was a superb tour leader. His local knowledge and familiarity with the people and country meant we had the best possible experience. In particular, the “cultural tours” that we did from time to time were fantastic – dropping in on farmers growing mushrooms, pepper, and cashews, visiting a rice-paper operation, seeing local people grinding corn, processing peanuts, peeling garlic, harvesting rubber, etc, etc. These were even more interesting than the “tourist trail” things we did such as the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum or the Imperial City (although they were also very good).

A very local experience
Vietnam is an amazing place and the tour provides a great way of seeing the country. We were fortunate to have a lovely group of people on our tour. By cycling we were better able to connect with the locals than traveling as regular tourists. Most of our coffee/lunch/dinner stops were in ‘very local’ places that we would never have stopped at if we were traveling on a bus tour.
Thanks Skedaddle for another good trip.
It was an incredible experience!
I loved the rides in the hills and countryside, together with the long descents , this was a magical journey.
The routes were well planned and our guide worked well to understand the group and our aims. Having the mechanic at the back really helped my morale and knowing the support trucks were able to top up water, give lots of smiles and offer support when I was poorly was just fantastic. In my opinion no day could be improved because Young and his team were so supportive and flexible.
I had an incredible time and it was down to our guide Young’s passion for his job and country and also the teamwork between all the guides. He was an exceptional leader! So enthusiastic, kind, fun and interesting.
Everything I could have wished for
The trip was amazing. We made friends along the way with the other riders and all jelled well. The service provided by Skedaddle, from Adam in the office who you could ask questions before to Ollie at the trip, was fantastic. Our guide Trung and Ollie were excellent and not fazed by anything. The hotels were excellent as were the refreshments during the ride, and every day was a favourite!
I'm hooked. The people are always great.
Tony is an exceptional person and an exceptional Tour Leader. I don’t think what I write will do him even half of the justice he deserves but suffice to say he was calm, caring, funny, professional, full of great stories and very encouraging at all times. If I was in a crisis, I would want Tony there! Thank you Tony for such a great experience – I’ll never forget it! Hopefully see you on another Skedaddle trip.
All days were very varied terrain and conditions, which was great. As a whole, and according to my preferences, this was not so much a sporty/cycling holiday (ok, the 11km climb to Dalat was good sport) but rather a country exploration by bike, which matched my expectations as well as the rest of the group, whose abilities and interests were relatively similar. I would have loved to do more cycling, especially at this leisurely pace, but all in all, I think it was pretty well balanced, given days have 24hours and we have to transfer in/out of cities in bus. of note: the transfers out of cities to start in nice lanes was great.
Mechanics and drivers were an integral part of the team. always smiling and attentive. they made the whole journey feel like a family trip. the team was great, please send along my warmest thanks.
Everything we expected and more!
Particularly impressed with the level of support, care and attention form the team in Vietnam. I never really expected to have my water bottle topped up for me and to have my bike ready for me each day. They could not have done more for us, I literally just had to pedal! And Hoang really went the extra mile on many occasion – he even gave us each a framed photo of the group!
It was a lovely touch to have lemonade made for us each day – it was cold and refreshing and much appreciated. The coffee and lunch stops were great as Hoang arranged stops at local cafes and restaurants that gave a real insight into the country – not all ‘touristy‘.
As mentioned, Hoang could not have done more for us, the level of attention to make sure we w ere all safe, happy, enjoying the riding and having a great time was much higher than I ever expected. He took us to great local restaurants (saving us a fortune), he arranged laundry, he kept us informed of the days plan, he kept us on time, he was highly knowledgable in the history of his country which was very interesting and he was really good company.
Everything that we seek from a cycling holiday!
This gave us everything that we seek from a cycling holiday: adventure, exercise, companionship, new experiences and challenges, excellent leadership and organisation, value for money.
We were never left wondering what or where to eat. The food was ‘brill‘. Duong was brilliant. He communicated really well, gave us an enormous amount of information about Vietnam. Looked after us all from start to finish. Nothing was too much trouble. Highly recommended and one of the best guides I have experienced. Duong really made this trip come alive.
Very comfortable small coach. The driver was amazing and made us all feel extremely safe. Great ‘lorry’ bringing up the back on the road and the support team were also brilliant. The bikes were well maintained and you always found your drink bottle topped up at stops. The chilled lemon drink provided at stopping points was exquisite. Thank-you for a great holiday!
The best service we have experienced on any trip!
Just like to congratulate the team members who looked after the bikes during the trip. Any repairs were speedily done. The bikes were always clean and ready to use whenever we needed them. Probably the best service we have experienced on any trip that we have done!
