Test yourself on legendary Tour de France cols

With challenging Alpine riding firmly in mind, we thought we’d take a closer look at our col-bagging trip, Mont Ventoux to Alp D’Huez, and the epic climbs you’ll enjoy both en route and on the TV over the next couple of days…

1. Col du Galibier, Stage: 17.

We say: Known by us as a ‘monster of a climb’, the Galibier is back after a 6-year hiatus from the TDF route! This challenging climb is not without its rewards though, with incredible scenic views as you make your way to the summit.

2. Col du Vars & Col d’Izoard, Stage: 18.

We say: These two climbs are generally featured alongside each other when included in the TDF and this year is no exception. Our own tour enables you to recreate this experience and the challenging combo will be sure to keep the heart pumping.

3. Mont Ventoux, not featured this year.

We say: Although the most iconic climb of our route won’t be making an appearance on the TDF in 2017, its legendary status makes it almost impossible to ignore. We kick the tour off with this most feared of climbs – a great way to settle any cycling nerves!
