Our latest addition to our road cycling holidays in the UK
. Based in Cranleigh in Surrey, it's an area that represents England's most wooded county and offers a wealth of interesting and quiet roads which made it the perfect location for the 2012 London Olympics, so you'll be following in the pedal strokes of Bradley Wiggins, though maybe not quite as quickly!
Our routes for thparticualr road cycling weekend have plenty of achievable challenges each day as we explore country lanes, discover charming villages tucked away down little known roads and enjoy spectacular views from the high points of the North Downs. Saturday's ride includes the climb of Box Hill and thankfully, unlike the Olympians, we'll be cycling up it just once during the ride. On Sunday we tackle Leith Hill, the highest point in Surrey and a key feature of both the Tour of Britain and Olympic Road Race that will have you searching for an extra gear.
The Surrey Hills weekend is easily accessible from London both by train and car and the superb B&B's we have chosen in the village provide a great place to relax after an enjoyable day’s riding. Evening meals are taken at one of the fine pubs or restaurants in the village and with some great local ales on offer it makes for a perfect weekend location.
Add to these things some great company, excellent food and mile upon mile of quiet country lanes in this pretty part of the UK and it’s difficult to think of a better place to spend some time on a bike.
For those that have tried our introductory road cycling weekends and want to try something a bit more demanding or if you're a seasoned cyclist looking for somewhere different to ride over a weekend, then this is for you!
