A guided cycling holiday exploring the Apulian region of Italy, located in the southeast in what is commonly known as the heel of Italy’s boot – (and it’s also its best kept secret!)
This interesting and eclectic region is steeped in history and has been governed by the Greeks, Romans and Spaniards over the centuries, each leaving their own distinctive mark, from local dialects and flavoursome cuisine to unique architecture.
Our route starts in Lecce, the “Florence of the South”. The route from here will take us along the Adriatic coast and the heel of Italy, gently looping back up north along the Iolian coast. We'll be riding cross country through ancient olive groves and hilltop villages toward Alberobello, a town made up of traditionaly Trulli houses. On the way we'll pass through Ostuni, renowned for its dazzling white washed buildings and the lovely Gallipoli, a popular fishing port and beach destination on the Salento peninsula.
We'll be exploring on touring bikes, through a mixture of flat and rolling countryside, mainly on quiet country roads with coastal views.
