This self-guided cycling holiday takes you from the volcanoes of the Spanish Garrotxa Natural Park to the beautiful Costa Brava, following part of the old Narrow-Gauge Railway Route. A relaxed itinerary that sees you riding along purpose built tracks along a former railway line. La Garrotxa Volcanic Area Nature Reserve is a great place to cycle with a rich and varied vegetation.
This is a three centre based trip. You'll first spend time exploring the town of Olot and its surroundings. Riding on cycle paths and country lanes, you will spend your days discovering the beech forests and craters of this stunning natural park. You'll then head off towards the lovely Girona where you have a free day to explore its magnificent cathedral and its atmospheric cobbled streets.
You'll finish the week with a night on the rugged Costa Brava. You'll cycle towards the coast from Girona, through the Selva depression and the Ridaura Valley, finishing up in the upmarket seaside resort of s'Agaro. You'll spend the evening in a beach side hotel, the perfect place to sip your sunset sangria!
