Holiday Information

A self-guided cycling holiday in Portugal, taking you through the appointed UNESCO Alto Douro Wine Region. The route primarily follows quiet country roads along picturesque valley banks and you'll discover the journey of Port production, from the vineyards to your table! You will be provided with route notes, maps, and GPS, so navigating the day's rides couldn't be easier!
 
After beginning your journey in Vila Real, the route explores the amazing landscapes of the Douro Valley. Cycling along vineyards on the riverbanks, you'll visit historical villages and towns, all of which showcase the amazing local style and history.
 
Cyclists will enjoy the quiet roads and fantastic views on offer over the abandoned railway lines and impressive River Douro. 
 
The accommodation for this trip is based in Quintas, working wine-production farms which have been adapted into luxurious accommodation. Your luggage will be waiting for you at your accommodation and what better way to relax after a day in the saddle than a wine-tasting session overlooking the Quintas' beautiful vineyards.  
 
With flexible start dates and various flight options to Porto, there’s never been a better time to visit this beautiful region of Portugal.
