Ideal for cycling with little ones
We had an abolsutely fantastic time, it couldn’t have been better. Ideal for cycling with a young child in a trailer.
A really fun family holiday
Not something we would ever have thought of organising ourselves, but it was such a stunning location (& great hotel!), with easy flat cycling routes, ideal for pulling a trailer along. It made for a really fun family holiday, with lots of good playgrounds for our 2 year old to explore before returning to the hotel with a fantastic pool, garden and playroom. Staff were very welcoming and tolerant of a toddler wandering around, and were very attentive to our needs at mealtimes.
Food was absolutely fantastic! Neverending breakfasts, and 5 course meals every night, enabling us to sample a wonderful range of local specialities (including lots of cheese!) washed down a cooling pint of well-earned beer!
It’s hard to pick a favourite day, they were all so good! But maybe the first day to Mayrhofen – our first chance to get out on the bikes and cycle up the valley along the river, spotting the narrow gauge train (including the steam train twice!), enjoying the mountain and valley views.
As seen in the press...
With dramatic mountains all around, this self-guided cycling holiday with Saddle Skedaddle starting in Fügen (closest airport Innsbruck, 40 minutes’ drive) is along quiet cycle paths in the Tyrolean valleys.
The Guardian (January 2016)
We enjoyed every day of cycling and the days we had free. Real sense of achievement cycling to Innsbruck and the trip to Kufstein was good. The girls also loved the swimming pool and the play room.
This trip is a great intro for families new to cycling holidays. The trip is centre based so you can enjoy the comfort of coming back to the same accommodation each day, whilst still being able to explore. The routes are easily tailored to suit individual family’s needs. Rest days are always an option with activities like hiking or swimming to enjoy instead. Emergency backup is available from the local team, but it’s best if you‘re happy and comfortable fixing common issues like punctures.
