View Holiday Schedule

This self-guided cycling holiday takes you from the volcanoes of the Spanish Garrotxa Natural Park to the beautiful Costa Brava, following part of the old Narrow-Gauge Railway Route. A relaxed itinerary that sees you riding along purpose built tracks along a former railway line. La Garrotxa Volcanic Area Nature Reserve is a great place to cycle with a rich and varied vegetation.
This is a three centre based trip. You'll first spend time exploring the town of Olot and its surroundings. Riding on cycle paths and country lanes, you will spend your days discovering the beech forests and craters of this stunning natural park. You'll then head off towards the lovely Girona where you have a free day to explore its magnificent cathedral and its atmospheric cobbled streets.
You'll finish the week with a night on the rugged Costa Brava. You'll cycle towards the coast from Girona, through the Selva depression and the Ridaura Valley, finishing up in the upmarket seaside resort of s'Agaro. You'll spend the evening in a beach side hotel, the perfect place to sip your sunset sangria!
Just contact us with your preferred dates and we can check availability for you.

Is this holiday suitable for your family?

Graded as a gentle trip, this trip is designed for families who either have slightly older children or children who are experienced cyclists. As there is a rest day and 2 loop rides during the week, it’s great for families who would like flexibility to possibly spend some days off the bike. There is some hilly terrain in the Garrotxa area, but later in the week the terrain is relatively flat. As much as possible the route is on Greenways and quiet roads, but you will encounter some traffic during the week, especially when cycling in and out of towns. Emergency backup is available from the local team, but it’s best if you‘re happy and comfortable fixing common issues like punctures.
