As part of our commitment to promoting cycling and reducing our impact on the planet, we are working with Sustrans to invest in reducing overall CO2 emissions generated by UK travel.
We have introduced an optional supplement for all our holidays, so that you can now opt to donate to Sustrans and contribute towards improving sustainable transport and reducing carbon emissions in your everyday activities.
In addition to your donations, for every mile a Skedaddle customer cycles on the National Cycle Network on one of our holidays we make a 5p a mile donation to Sustrans. To date we have donated over £15,000 to Sustrans via this scheme.
Each year we hold a series of fundraising rides featuring one of our holidays that use the National Cycle Network. Since 2012 we have helped raised over £6,000 on these challenge rides routes.
in 2015 we will be running three Sustrans tours:
Lands End to John O'Groats - 27 June to 13 July - Take on Le Jog and ride through Britain on this iconic cycling journey.
C2C / Coast to Coast - 02 to 04 May - Go coast to coast on this C2C / Sea to Sea trip from Whitehaven to Tynemouth.
Coast and Castles - 12 to 14 September - Enjoy beautiful Northumberland during a great weekend of cycling.

In 2013 Sustrans and their many partners, completed 84 new walking and cycling routes extending the National Cycle Network into the heart of communities across the UK.
Sustrans asked Skedaddle to provided the routes, guides and logistics for this prestigious event, which ran between 16 August and 07 September. Groups of volunteers and Olympic Games Makers, joined by celebrities and sports stars, took part in the celebration ride which reached over 35 communities in England, Wales, Northern Ireland and Scotland.

“Sustrans chose Saddle Skedaddle to organise the 1,000 mile cycle tour at the heart of our high profile Pedal On UK event because it was so important for the ride to be an enjoyable and, ultimately, a safe experience for our volunteers and the celebrities taking part. We couldn't have made a better decision. We were very impressed with the high-level, pre-ride planning and the way Skedaddle worked with us, often against the clock, to make sure we achieved our goals. Then, once the ride got underway, the guides came into their own. We were always absolutely confident that the riders were in safe hands and nothing but praise and compliments have been received about the way the Skedaddle team led and ran the ride.” - Monica Ogden, Marketing Manager
